The post Click & Collect – A Convenient Choice appeared first on Portable Space.
]]>We’re always looking at ways we can offer more choice and flexibility to our customers and that’s why we have introduced the ‘click & collect’ option when ordering over the telephone or through our website.
This means that you can use your own vehicle to collect your container or cabin and at a time to suit you, potentially reducing the lead-time for delivery and installation.
It’s essential that you have a suitable vehicle to transport what you’ve ordered so that it arrives at its destination in perfect condition. That’s why we have produced detailed guidance notes to help you decide if ‘click & collect’ is going to be a safe and practical option for you.
We schedule our ‘click & collect’ customers on weekdays to ensure your order is ready – we usually need 24 hours’ notice – and also for safety reasons to avoid too many customers and vehicles visiting at any one time.
It’s great to meet our customers too. Coming along to our Suffolk headquarters means you can see at first-hand what is on offer, meet members of our team and collect your purchase at the same time. We look forward to seeing you soon!

]]>The post Bespoke Cabin Is Ideal For Island Location appeared first on Portable Space.
]]>The company needed a new Works Project Office to be situated near its power station. After talking to the Portable Space team, they decided on a 32ft x 10ft bespoke jackleg cabin which could be designed to meet their exact specification and with its additional support legs, would be ideal for locating on uneven surfaces.
Carol Walters, General Manager of Alderney Electricity explains: “This was to replace an old structure which needed updating and we were keen to have a bespoke cabin which was the size we needed and could be kitted out to meet our requirements.”
“Portable Space were extremely helpful in designing the unit complete with detailed plans of the electrics which we could install later. Being located on Alderney also provided a few logistical challenges in terms of delivery and installation, all of which were met efficiently and the cabin is now in situ overlooking the sea.
“Not only are we delighted with the quality of the cabin but also the first-class experience of dealing with the Portable Space team who really went the extra mile to help.”

]]>A one-trip 20ft shipping container from Portable Space, delivered with a very fast turnaround, provided the solution and the move was able to go ahead.
John says: “Making such a big move was always going to be a logistical challenge but getting my Ford Capri Mark 1 to our new home was adding to the list. As it was only part restored, I also had a range of parts which needed to go with it.
“I looked online and found Portable Space which was near us and then arranged to go along to its Bacton headquarters to see how they could help. From talking to a member of the team, I decided that a shipping container would work as it was robust and secure and could be kitted out with a false floor. I later installed some industrial racking to take all my other car parts and equipment.
“From placing the order to delivery took just four days, including having a grafotherm coating on the ceiling to prevent condensation, which was carried out in the company’s on-site workshop.
“Now we are here in the Shetland Islands, I am still using the container to house the car and shipped parts and they remain in dry clean condition. The anti-condensation coating is certainly doing its job even in harsh local weather conditions and frequent changes in temperature and humidity.
“There’s no doubt about it– Portable Space came to the rescue with an ideal solution and helped us make the move smoothly and without any damage to my rare classic car and we are still benefitting from using the unit as storage.”

]]>Debenham Shed, in Suffolk, was started by two individuals, Les Wright and Bernard Rose who had been asked to clear out a number of local houses but couldn’t bring themselves to throw away the tools and equipment they found. Using a donated 40ft container kitted out with lighting and electricity, Les and Bernard had the perfect space for a workshop.
As the Shed Club expanded the container needed to be relocated to another site a few miles away. Portable Space’s transport team moved the 40ft container and three other units to the new location free of charge.
The Debenham Shed Project
Bitterne Shed Club in Hampshire needed a secure unit to house their collection of tools. They ordered a 4m x 2.1m powder-coated flatpack store which has now been delivered, constructed and in use. Flat pack stores are an ideal solution when access to a site is restricted as they can fit on the back of a low-loader vehicle for delivery.
Hugh Robinson from Bitterne Shed Club said:
We needed a secure and waterproof unit to house our tools and the wood we use to make our items. The Portable Space flatpack met all our criteria and we are thrilled with the result. As it is located on a site with slightly restricted access, we were really grateful that the company’s delivery driver was so skilled and considerate. Throughout, all our dealings, the team has been helpful and friendly – a very positive experience.

Lauren Gladding, Sales Manager at Portable Space, said:
Both of these Shed Clubs provide a great meeting space in their local communities for men (and women) to benefit from regular social interactions, build and develop skills and undertake regular, active participation in activities they enjoy. We are delighted to play a small part in supporting these projects.

The flat pack kiosk we donated has been kitted out with a fully functional bar and wood fire oven meaning staff can serve drinks and cook for customers outdoors.

The pub is re-opening its doors on Friday April 23rd and the East Anglian Daily Times featured Lucy, Grant and their new food and drink kiosk in an article Where to Eat Outside Near Stowmarket.
We wish the team the very best for the re-opening and will be sure to be visiting for a pint and meal very soon.
