Container creates cycle circuit at annual showcase
Shipping containers can be converted for many different uses – including forming a tunnel at the UK’s biggest annual cycling event at the NEC in Birmingham.
View Case StudyShipping containers have a very strong structure which makes them ideal for converting into a range of uses – from accommodation to plant rooms to family-friendly play areas at charity festivals.
For several years running Portable Space has supported CarFest events in aid of the BBC Children In Need Appeal.
Most recently it donated five 20ft converted shipping containers to the organisers which were transformed into eye-catching arched entrances to Superhero World which featured at both the North and South CarFest events.
CarFest is the brainchild of Radio 2 Broadcaster, Chris Evans and as part of the 2017 festivals, organisers requested the containers, as well as delivery to and collection from the two locations.
Mark Dolman, Commercial Director at Portable Space said: “We’ve helped out with CarFest in previous years but this time our involvement played an even more prominent part with the creation of Superhero World.
“BBC’s Children In Need Appeal is a very worthy cause and we were happy to contribute by donating the converted containers, fabricating the entrances and also transporting and erecting the structures for both festival venues.”
Izzy McGough, Assistant Show Manager at Brand Events which organised CarFest said: “The Portable Space team was great to work with and always enthusiastic and generous in giving their time, including coming to London for a meeting. We are really grateful for their support and commitment to the event – thank you!”
