Steel stores are fundamentally different from shipping containers. The stores are built in the same factory as the Steel Range of cabins (offices, canteens, drying rooms) and as such they are compatible for stacking and the profiled sides are aesthetically compatible too (flat sided stores are available if you need to match up with the Ecolink units).

The other key difference is that the so called 20ft steel store is actually long enough to accommodate 6m lengths of pipe or steel whereas the 20ft shipping container is not. Steel stores cannot be loaded onto ships or taken round the world with 30 tonnes of goods inside them though.

Steel stores are available in sizes from 12ft through to 40ft, the locking mechanism is operated with a key rather than the vertical rods on each door as found on a shipping container, whilst the double door hinges are external the door design includes rods on the doors that lock inside the door frame when the door is shut, these prevent the doors from being removed in the event that the hinges are cut.
