Providing bespoke containerised conversions to be shipped across the world requires meticulous planning and precision.
That’s what Portable Space has delivered over the years to Byron Marine, a Falkland Islands company which undertakes oil and gas logistical projects in one of the most isolated locations in the world.
Julian Morris, Commercial Director of Byron Marine says: “We have worked with Portable Space over a number of years, on several major projects.
“The Falkland Islands is where Byron Marine is based, where we live and work and use our expertise to deliver efficient and cost-effective logistics to projects. For the last 25 years, we have made things work in an environment which presents many challenges – for example there’s a very extended, infrequent supply chain, with operational limitations on sea and air services, a lack of readily available workers, support services and infrastructure, frequently hostile weather conditions and expensive logistics and operating costs.
“All of this requires in-depth practical knowledge and understanding of what is required to make things happen.
“Portable Space helped us with a major engineering project we were carrying out for the MOD in Falklands by supplying a container conversion which we could use as an integrated work/camp facility including welfare unit with canteen, toilets and offices. The MOD supplied all the linkways, so Portable Space had to build a self-contained solution to be shipped which was of excellent quality and spot on in terms of detail.
“Over the years we have gone back to Portable Space on a number of occasions as they are so helpful and flexible, providing a high level of detail and design and an easy company to deal with.”
