Containers are easily converted and modified to provide both permanent and temporary accommodation, including offices, canteens, meeting rooms, toilets, showers and living areas.

The real benefit of using ISO shipping containers for conversion is that they can not only be used domestically in the UK, but they can also be cheaply transported around the world via the global container network of ships, road haulage and sometimes rail (some conversions cannot be transported by rail due to the excessive air pressures associated with trains passing at speed).

This is especially useful when space is needed quickly in remote areas with limited resources such as oil, gas and mining, or for example areas affected by conflict or natural disasters. Once again the shipping container provides a perfect place to install and protect this equipment, whether a single, double or multiple turnstile unit is required. In addition to protecting against theft or terrorism on construction sites, infrastructure projects or airports, turnstile software can also be used for recording attendance at work for example for safety or clocking in reasons.

On construction sites turnstiles are now commonly used to restrict access to only those who have completed site inductions, security clearance or hold the relevant safety cards.
